Bob Cavanaugh has been tailgating for over 25 years! In the beginning it was just ten guys standing around a small BBQ grill. He points to his Eagles Express minibus and smiles. “Since I bought the bus, the parties got better.” The customized Eagles Express bus serves as a landmark destination for the hungry hordes of tailgaters looking for a good meal and friendly conversation. Not only is the mini-bus customized; in 2008 Bob has added a new custom made moble tailgating grill. The tailgating grill was built to his exacting specifications and shows his dedication to serving the best meals to fans of tailgating. But it’s not the glitz and glitter that really matter to Cav – it’s the food. A sample tailgating menu might include Caesar salad, penne pasta with shrimp in a blush crème sauce, filet mignon sandwiches, hot sausage with peppers and onions, grilled chicken cutlets, tomato pies, seafood trio of clams, mussels and shrimp in a white wine sauce and occasionally a roasted pig. In the middle of the massive parking lot, Bob Cavanaugh cooks at a steady pace for his family, friends and their friends. He has the look of a contented man - a man for whom the city is one big family. Good food, good friends, good times.
