A Tailgating Tradition

Bob Cavanaugh celebrates 25 years of tailgating!
In the beginning there were just ten guys standing around a small BBQ grill. He points to his Eagles Express minibus and smiles. “Since I bought the bus, things are going great!” The customized Eagles Express bus serves as a landmark destination for the hungry hordes of tailgaters looking for a good meal and friendly conversation.

Not only is the mini-bus customized; for 2008 Bob has added a new custom made Tailgating Grill. This mobile tailgate grill was built to his exacting specifications and shows his dedication to serving the best meals to fans of tailgating. But it’s not the glitz and glitter that really matter to Cav – it’s the food.

A sample tailgate menu might include Caesar salad, penne pasta with shrimp in a blush crème sauce, filet mignon sandwiches, hot sausage with peppers and onions, grilled chicken cutlets, tomato pies, seafood trio of clams, mussels and shrimp in a white wine sauce and occasionally a roasted pig.

In the middle of the massive parking lot, Cavanaugh cooks at a steady pace for his family, friends and their friends. He has the look of a contented man - a man for whom the city is one big family. Good food, good friends, good times.
